Forward Deployed Engineer, Perplexity Computer

📋 Description

• Embed with strategic customers on time-boxed engagements (typically 1–3 months) with clear scope
• Design and build the workflow with engineering support; hands-on in Perplexity Computer and
• Prototype, ship, debug, and harden solutions in the customer's environment.
• Own the customer relationship for the engagement duration: manage executive sponsors, run sessions
• Turn engagements into reusable assets and reference implementations for future customers and teams.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Success on scoping, pre-sales validation, and expansion.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in a customer-embedded technical role (FDE, senior solutions engineering, solutions
• Proven track record running customer engagements as projects: scoping, milestones, status
• AI-native: daily use of frontier LLMs, agents, and coding assistants with strong model intuition.
• Executive-credible communication: walk CIOs through architecture and manage programs on the ground.
• High agency in ambiguity: operate without PM, spec, or perfect requirements and ship what matters.
• Nice-to-haves: prior FDE or deployment-strategist, sales engineering leadership, solutions
