Junior Aquatic Ecology Specialist

📋 Description

• Environmental impact assessments for hydropower facilities and renewable energy projects in an
• Support aquatic biodiversity field surveys in rivers and reservoirs
• Assist with species identification, taxonomy verification, data/specimen management
• Contribute to literature reviews, habitat assessments, and species status evaluations
• Assist in drafting sections of ESIA reports and biodiversity management plans
• Support data entry, QC, and analysis of ecological datasets

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, biodiversity, ecology, limnology, or related field (required)
• Master's degree and/or PhD in aquatic/freshwater ecology preferred
• Experience in aquatic ecology assessments and knowledge of methodologies
• General ecology/conservation knowledge and understanding of aquatic life cycles
• Working knowledge of data management/analysis tools (Excel; R, GIS/QGIS asset)
• Language proficiency in Lao and English; English writing for reports; regional language asset
