Software Engineer II, Earnings

📋 Description

• Build and scale Toast’s earnings platform for tips and employee pay across the network.
• Develop backend services and contribute to end-to-end ownership and engineering culture.
• Collaborate with product/design to shape what gets built and how.
• Participate in full development lifecycle: design, estimation, implementation, testing, debugging
• Ship code impacting Tips Manager revenue and earnings accuracy for restaurant employees.
• Engage in thoughtful code reviews and performance improvements via logging and metrics.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with object-oriented languages such as Kotlin or Java.
• Strong focus on correctness since payroll data drives employee paychecks.
• Willing to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance using logs/metrics.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to real problems.
• Desire to tackle challenging problems where correctness and scale matter.
