Staff Systems Engineer - Operational Readiness and Field Safety

📋 Description

• Lead Field Safety at Waabi by proactively establishing processes to escalate issues, reacting to
• Define and conduct operational readiness testing for Waabi's autonomous vehicle operations and
• Work with operations and software teams to define protocols for nominal and off-nominal situations
• Create processes for ongoing field safety monitoring and support leading/lagging safety indicators
• Analyze operational trends and past field events to drive systemic safety improvements across
• Support Operations in incident response training and operational preparedness activities.

🎯 Requirements

• Undergraduate in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
• 7+ years in safety-critical system development, validation, or operations.
• Strong system engineering: requirements decomposition, V&V, hazard analysis (HAZOP, FMEA, FTA
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, ISO 21448/SOTIF, UL 4600 standards.
• Experience monitoring safety metrics and designing test plans for autonomous/robotic systems.
• Excellent technical communication and cross-team coordination.
