Medical Coding Auditor (Outpatient)

📋 Description

• Review outpatient medical records to extract relevant clinical information for coding
• Assign and validate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes per conventions
• Audit outpatient records to identify discrepancies and optimization opportunities
• Apply NCDs, LCDs, CMS Manuals, NCCI Edits, and other coding guidelines
• Read claims to assess coding accuracy and support outcomes
• Manage assignments in a production-driven environment with accuracy

🎯 Requirements

• Active CPC, COC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification with at least 3 years post-cert experience
• Minimum 2 years outpatient medical record auditing experience
• Strong knowledge of NCDs, LCDs, CMS Manuals, NCCI Edits, coding guidelines
• Sound judgment, discretion, independent decision-making
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify coding discrepancies
• Ability to work independently and prioritize in a production setting
