Overview
As a member of the accounting team, this position will be responsible for recording, analyzing, and applying the principles of accounting to prepare financial information and analyses.
Responsibilities
Financial Close, Analysis & Insight
· Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, supporting documentation, and related general ledger analysis
· Research, resolve, and escalate month-end close items, variances, or accounting issues timely and accurately
· Support weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, including audit support, as assigned
Business Partnership & Acumen
· Collaborate with accounting team members and business partners to support accurate, timely financial reporting and analysis
· Cross-train across general ledger functions to provide coverage and strengthen understanding of accounting processes
· Participate in financial meetings and share updates, analyses, or follow-up items as appropriate
· Continue building business acumen by learning the Company’s operations, key financial drivers, and the “why” behind accounting results
Process Improvement & Controls
· Follow accounting policies, procedures, and internal control requirements while supporting process improvements and system enhancements
· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, consistency, and best practices within assigned processes
Ownership & Initiative
· Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate, high-quality work with attention to detail
· Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and initiative while proactively seeking solutions when challenges arise
· Develop technical accounting knowledge through hands-on experience, training opportunities, and a continuous learning mindset including learning the ‘why’ behind accounting activities and results.
Qualifications
- Associates in Accounting and/or work-related experience.
- 1+ years of Public Accounting experience
- Sound understanding of GAAP
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks/assignments while consistently meeting deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, sound judgment and uphold company values
Preferences:
- Strong preference for Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Excel
- Experience with M365 Finance and Operations
- Experience with ideation and utilization of AI in a work setting
- CPA designation or in process of seeking certification
