📋 Description

• Provide legal advice to Monzo’s Product Collective on personal and business banking, borrowing, and
• Triage product legal queries and escalate where needed.
• Advise product managers on legal/regulatory requirements for growing banking products.
• Develop efficient ways of working to scale Monzo while staying compliant with laws and regulations.
• Coordinate legal matters with Compliance, Risk, control functions and business teams.
• Deliver training and share knowledge on laws impacting Monzo and its customers.

🎯 Requirements

• Qualified lawyer (or soon to qualify) with banking/finance sector experience.
• Experience advising on banking products and relevant financial services laws (payments and banking).
• Ability to explain complex regulations simply (BCOBS, Payment Services Regulations) and find
• Experience advising on regulated financial promotions and marketing issues for financial products.
• Strong communicator with clear, concise legal advice and stakeholder alignment.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, able to prioritise across multiple projects.
