📋 Description Generate and implement IP strategies across therapies and tech, including large/small molecules Draft, file, and prosecute patent apps worldwide with outside counsel Work with scientists to maximize AbbVie’s IP position Provide legal counsel to cross-functional R&D and business teams on IP matters Challenge and defend patents in IPR, opposition, interference, and post-grant proceedings 🎯 Requirements JD from an accredited law school, state bar in-house qualification, and USPTO registration 7+ years in patent law at a law firm or life sciences company; US/foreign prosecution Patent litigation experience is a significant plus Technical background for pharma patent prosecution (small molecule/biological discovery & Technical degree in molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, biology, chemistry, chemical Strong legal, analytical, communication, collaboration, and people skills
