JCL Mainframe Migration Engineer

📋 Description

• Analyze, transform, and migrate JCL-based batch workloads from mainframes to Azure/cloud-native
• Modernize mainframe workloads with automation and rehosting strategies.
• Ensure functional equivalence, performance stability, and minimal disruption during migration from
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align migration with enterprise standards.
• Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, and troubleshooting sessions.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell modules to support Azure batch jobs and automation.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert in Mainframe JCL and mainframe batch job concepts (JCL, GDG, PDS).
• Proficient with Control-M/other schedulers, CICS, and migration tooling (ISPF, GDG, PSD, MFT).
• Experience converting JCL to PowerShell scripts and automating batch jobs in Azure.
• Strong scripting in PowerShell; knowledge of C#/.NET, SQL Server, and Azure Storage is a plus.
• Understanding of concurrency, thread safety, and locking mechanisms in scripting.
• Experience with migration projects (mainframe to cloud) and Agile methodologies.
