Senior Ocean Marine Underwriter (Hull & Liability)

📋 Description

• Underwrite profitable new and renewal ocean marine business
• Evaluate risks across hull, P&I, GL, excess, and property
• Build relationships with agents and brokers
• Review policy servicing and underwriting docs
• Analyze inspection reports to assess risk quality
• Support sales and marketing to grow portfolio

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an appropriate insurance designation
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial marine underwriting
• Strong technical knowledge of marine general liability, hull/P&I, excess, marine property
• Understanding of regional marine market; national market knowledge is a plus
• Strong underwriting judgment to evaluate exposures and make sound decisions
• Ability to develop and maintain productive agent/broker relationships
