- Develop and implement IP strategies for AbbVie's products
- Provide legal advice to R&D and business teams on IP matters
- Draft, file, prosecute patent applications worldwide
- Manage outside counsel for patent prosecutions
- Challenge and defend patents in post-grant proceedings
- Conduct prior art searches and due diligence for BD
🎯 Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school; state bar; USPTO registration
- 8+ years in patent law at a law firm or life sciences company
- Technical background in medical devices or related fields
- Degree in biotechnology/biomedical engineering/biochemistry/biology/chemistry/chemical engineering
- Strong legal, analytical, communication, collaboration skills
- Ability to manage complex projects to meet deadlines
