📋 Description
- Lead initiatives to build a vector database offering with speed and relevance in search.
- Contribute to Elasticsearch: implement new search features and fix bugs; design data structures or
- Collaborate with a globally distributed team focused on vector search capabilities in Elasticsearch.
- Be a domain expert on vector similarity to support search relevance and drive improvements.
- Work with open source contributors and handle issues/PRs in a distributed collaboration setup.
- Write idiomatic Java and contribute to core Elasticsearch software.
🎯 Requirements
- Experience with vector similarity on large-scale search platforms; contributions to vector
- Professional experience with vector similarity and vector databases; familiarity with HNSW, IVF or
- Strong core Java skills; proficient with data structures, concurrency, and modern language features
- Ability to work autonomously, drive projects end-to-end, and coordinate with engineers across teams.
- Comfort collaborating online; strong communication and asynchronous collaboration skills.
- Experience with data storage technologies (Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) and
