Protection & Controls Engineer

📋 Description

• Develop and review protection schemes for HV substations and interconnect facilities.
• Specify protective relays (SEL), RTUs, meters, and panel equipment.
• Review AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and logic diagrams.
• Protective relaying settings development and version control.
• Protection coordination, fault and arc-flash studies (ASPEN/CAPE).
• Interconnection protection, SCADA/RTU lists, witness testing with utilities.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in protection & controls for HV substations (69kV-345kV).
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; PE preferred.
• Strong hands-on protection relaying; SEL platforms preferred.
• Coordination/fault studies in ASPEN or CAPE; defend settings to utility.
• Working knowledge of NERC PRC standards and interconnection processes.
• Commissioning experience; relay tests and end-to-end testing with NETA crews.
