• Lead a team building data ingestion, governance, storage, processing, access
• Split time ~50% writing code/designing systems/architecture
• Hire, develop, unblock and set direction for engineers
• Hold technical authority on data compute and architecture decisions
• Balance hands-on coding with people leadership and recruiting

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years in data infrastructure, distributed systems, or backend
• Hands-on Spark tuning; PySpark vs Scala Spark opinions
• Familiar with Iceberg, Kafka/MSK, Airflow/MWAA, Trino/Athena
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, data APIs or tooling
• 2+ years of engineering management or tech lead
• Strong communicator to align tech trade-offs with product
