Staff Optical Systems Engineer

📋 Description

• Drive optical systems development for multiomic discovery platforms from concept to
• Build and integrate imaging, illumination, and autofocus systems; develop testing methodologies and
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, supply chain, manufacturing and field service
• Stay current with advancements in optics, photonics and imaging; contribute to new imaging
• Location: San Diego – on-site

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience commercializing world-class scientific imaging devices; preferably involving
• Extensive knowledge of optical design principles and tools; Zemax or Code V proficiency.
• Proficient with programming tools/languages for image and data analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
• Hands-on optical and optomechanical system integration and alignment; strong problem-solving and
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment; on-site presence in San Diego.

🎁 Benefits

• Base compensation: $133,000 - $173,000 per year.
