Materials Engineer, Polymer Development

📋 Description

• Develop advanced polymer materials for SpaceX hardware programs
• Lead formulation, processing, and testing coordination with laboratories
• Translate design criteria into technical targets with cross-functional teams
• Scale materials from concept to production through iterative development
• Collaborate with engineering and production to integrate materials into manufacturing

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Materials Science & Engineering
• 2+ years in polymeric material formulation or related field
• Hands-on with analytical tools (FTIR, NMR, GPC, DSC, DMA, TGA, UV-Vis)
• Experience with adhesives, paints, coatings, emulsions, or thermal protection materials
• Ability to manage multiple projects with clear schedules
• Strong technical ownership and problem-solving skills
