Lead Engineer (xAI Battery Storage)

📋 Description

• Lead the storage fleet as a power plant for AI campuses
• Architect, size, and implement grid-forming behavior for campus resilience
• Own BESS architecture, MV topology, and protection schemes
• Translate compute duty cycles into power and energy needs
• Define inverter control strategies and coordination with governors
• Specify EMS functions: dispatch, SOC, peak shaving, islanding

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering or related
• 8+ years in power systems engineering
• 4+ years on utility-scale or large BESS projects
• Experience with NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A, IEEE 1547, IEEE 2800
• PSCAD or EMT modeling experience
• PE license or plan to pursue one
