System Safety Engineer, Mining/Industrial

📋 Description

• Develop and own machine-level safety cases for autonomous mining ops
• Identify hazards and assess risks for machine functions
• Translate hazards into MSRs and verification criteria
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and validation teams
• Support safety reviews, field tests, and deployment sign-offs
• Work primarily from Applied Intuition office with occasional remote elements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering or related field
• 3+ years in system safety, ISO 26262 Part 6 focus
• Experience with HAZOP, FMEA, safety case development
• Knowledge of braking/steering/propulsion control systems
• Ability to derive safety requirements from hazards
• Strong cross-team collaboration skills
