📋 Description

• Lead architectural and code-level performance initiatives for Elasticsearch.
• Drive high-impact optimizations across distributed systems and components.
• Develop performance models and methodologies for complex, distributed systems.
• Profile and analyze system behavior to identify bottlenecks in logging, metrics, vector search, and
• Mentor engineers and promote performance-first development culture.
• Collaborate across teams to embed performance into new features from the outset.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management; writing high-performance, thread-safe
• Proven profiling/optimization experience for distributed systems; familiarity with benchmarking
• Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture, partition tolerance, and scaling large
• Experience using AI or advanced tooling to accelerate optimization and automate benchmarking
• Ability to collaborate across functions and work autonomously in distributed teams.
