Electrical Drafter & Designer

We’re looking for an Electrical Drafter & Designer to join our team and play a key role in designing power distribution and control solutions across diverse projects.

What You’ll Do
You’ll work closely with engineers and senior designers to create high-quality electrical drawings and documentation that drive projects from concept through completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Create electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, PLC I/O, motor control, and panel layout drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
- Design MCCs, switchboards, LT panels, control panels, and power distribution systems
- Develop interconnection drawings, BOMs/BOQs, load calculations, and cable schedules
- Prepare submittals, RFIs, test forms, and technical documentation
- Assist with project coordination, submittal tracking, quality reviews, and hours forecasting
- Support panel testing, site coordination, production planning, and dispatch documentation
- Interpret engineering sketches, contract drawings, and specifications
- Collaborate with PLC/SCADA teams on I/O lists, control logic, and instrumentation
- Participate in estimation, quotations, cost control, and material planning
- Ensure drawings meet standards and accurately represent system functionality
What You’ll Design
You’ll gain hands-on experience designing a wide range of electrical and control systems, including:
- MCCs, PCCs, PDBs, LDBs, LT Panels, AMF Panels, DG Synchronizing Panels
- DOL, Star-Delta, and VFD-based motor control panels
- Automatic Power Factor Correction (APFC) panels
- Residential and industrial metering panels
- Power and control circuits, wiring harnesses, and junction box layouts
- Control panel GA and internal layouts based on site conditions
- MIMIC diagrams and graphical plant representations
What We’re Looking For
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong experience with AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical (SolidWorks is a plus)
- Understanding of electrical design, power distribution, and control logic
- Ability to read and interpret control schematics and single-line diagrams
- Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA, field instrumentation, and motor control systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to solve practical problems and work with limited standardization
Mandatory Technical Experience Includes:
- VFDs, motor starters, MCCs, switchboards, transformers
- Control panel design, P&IDs, I/O lists, loop and interconnection diagrams
- PLC-based control circuits and instrumentation integration
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (EE, ME, CPE preferred, not mandatory)
- 1–5 years of experience with AutoCAD (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)
- 1–2 years of electrical circuit or control panel design experience
- CAD certification is a plus
