Backend Engineer, Source Code Experience (Ruby)

📋 Description

• Develop secure, well-tested features using Ruby and GraphQL.
• Improve source code workflows for GitLab across platforms.
• Design backend services, APIs, data models, and business logic.
• Collaborate asynchronously and synchronously with teams and domain experts.
• Leverage AI agents when appropriate to speed delivery while ensuring quality.
• Write maintainable code and participate in code reviews.

🎯 Requirements

• Backend web app experience with Ruby and GraphQL.
• Relational DB concepts, SQL, data modeling, caching, performance.
• Experience with user-facing workflows and underlying systems.
• Backend testing: unit/integration tests, testing pyramid, Git, code review.
• Experience or interest in AI coding agents in a monorepo.
• Clear English communication in remote, asynchronous environments.
