Staff Hardware Reliability Engineer

📋 Description

• Lead reliability program for a Waymo hardware product area (e.g. LiDAR) across lifecycle from
• Define and improve reliability processes including DFMEA, FTA, design verification, test and
• Collaborate with US and international CMs, ODMs and Tier-1s on reliability test programs
• Develop reliability roadmaps and schedules, update senior leadership
• Provide technical evaluations on designs, processes, materials, and vendor selection
• Manage program-level risks in complex reliability issues

🎯 Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or Physics
• 10 years of experience managing reliability programs for complex electromechanical systems
• Experience delivering reliability through product generations from concept to field deployment
• Experience in DFMEA or other risk analysis across a product line
• Extensive experience developing reliability test plans and leading root-cause analysis
• Strong background in mechanics of materials and physics of failure for electronics and sensors

🎁 Benefits
