Assistant Head of Department, Automation – Touring Show

📋 Description

• Support the automation department during rehearsals, performances, load-ins/outs, and city
• Supervise/train technicians, crew, and temporary staff; assist with onboarding/docs.
• Operate automation systems during shows and training sessions; cover tracks as needed.
• Inspect, maintain and repair automation equipment (consoles, PLCs, winches, hoists, lifts
• Maintain cue sheets, safety logs, inspections, inventories, and customs docs.
• Collaborate to upgrade equipment and integrate new show elements.

🎯 Requirements

• Available to tour internationally full-time; working abroad.
• Diploma in live entertainment/theatre production or equivalent.
• 3+ years automation experience in live entertainment; touring experience preferred.
• Hands-on with automation consoles and motion control systems (winches, lifts, etc.).
• Technical knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, control loops, electrical systems.
• CAD knowledge considered an asset; proficient with MS Office; English fluent; other languages a
