Staff Software Engineer - Experimentation

📋 Description

• Own the platform Headway uses to run experiments and feature flags.
• Design core primitives for experiment assignment, exposure tracking, and cross-device identity.
• Define long-term experimentation and feature flagging stack; evaluate and consolidate tools like
• Enable AI-driven workflows, from validation to automatic detection of broken experiments.
• Extend experimentation capabilities to market-based testing across geographic markets.
• Collaborate with Data Science and analytics teams to ensure trustworthy measurements.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong backend and frontend experience with systems thinking.
• End-to-end ownership of experimentation or feature-flagging stacks.
• Experience persisting assignments, accurate exposure, and cross-session identity resolution.
• Statistical fluency to partner with data scientists and assess measurement validity.
• Ability to debug complex measurement bugs and drive program-level improvements.
• Willingness to influence product direction and mentor senior engineers.
