Senior Payroll Specialist (Germany)

📋 Description

• Run payroll end-to-end for Germany, in-house and on time
• Master data ownership: hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits, absences
• Payroll controls and quality: validations, investigate discrepancies, corrective actions
• Handle statutory filings and government accesses (Lohnsteuer, SV-Meldungen, ELStAM data)
• Own and optimize the in-house payroll system; test updates and partner with Product
• Be the Subject Matter Expert on tax, social security, labor law, and Tarifvertrag interpretation

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years running native in-house payroll for Germany
• German C1/C2 and fluent English for global collaboration
• Advanced DATEV experience
• Deep knowledge of German wage tax, social insurance, labor law
• Strong data integrity, analytics mindset, and automation focus
• Comfortable working asynchronously in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
