📋 Description Set the technical direction and roadmaps for Strava's social platform services. Act as tech lead for a pod; mentor engineers and coordinate across teams. Drive modernization and migrations of critical platform services. Partner with product teams to align roadmaps and capabilities. Own technical investment strategy for the social domain (reliability). Design and review systems powering Strava's social features (Ruby/Scala/Go). 🎯 Requirements 10+ years of backend/server engineering. Experience leading multi-engineer technical projects. Tech lead experience; facilitating team processes and roadmaps. Strong distributed systems design for scale. Proficiency in Ruby, Scala, Go, or Java. Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS. Experience with MySQL, Redis, Cassandra. Interest in prioritizing the right work and delivering impact.
