📋 Description Be tech-lead and architect for data ingestion/normalization (ad networks, Fivetran, Snowflake/BigQuery) Design schema evolution, data contracts, DQ, lineage, and time-travel Drive architecture decisions in GCP/BigQuery/dbt; write cross-team design docs Raise engineering bar via code/design reviews; mentor senior engineers Partner with data science to translate modeling needs into pipeline contracts/SLAs Own incident response and post-mortems; drive systemic fixes and AI workflows 🎯 Requirements 10+ years of software engineering; 4+ years building production data platforms Staff-level leadership: directing multiple workstreams; mentoring Deep expertise in Python and SQL/dbt; fluency with Dagster/Airflow/Temporal and BigQuery/Snowflake Ownership of a non-trivial data platform: schema design, evolution, data quality, lineage, cost, reliability Strong product judgment; translate DS/ML needs into data contracts Excellent written and verbal communication; defend decisions to Eng, Product, Exec Bonus: open-source data tooling (Spark/Beam/Iceberg) Bonus: experience building AI Agents in a data platform setting 🎁 Benefits Flexible PTO Equity – Startup ownership Health, dental, and vision insurance WFH stipend Events & Offsites Free lunch – hub offices (SF, NYC, Seattle)
