📋 Description Join Modal's research team as a PhD ML/RL intern. Improve methods and develop new techniques for large-scale training and inference. Extend models to long-context and long-horizon tasks. Improve inference-time efficiency, reliability, and robustness. Collaborate across research and engineering teams. 🎯 Requirements Currently pursuing a PhD in CS, ML, or related field. Demonstrated research in RL, ML, foundation models, or related areas. Experience developing and evaluating large-scale ML models or systems. Familiarity with distributed training, large-scale inference, or multi-GPU environments. Publications at NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, CoRL, UAI, JMLR, or TMLR. Strong programming and engineering skills to translate ideas into implementations. Collaborative, mission-driven mindset across research and engineering.
