📋 Description

• Lead initiatives within Elasticsearch to produce an industry-leading search engine offering
• Contribute to Elasticsearch full time, building new search features and fixing intriguing bugs
• Work with a globally distributed team of engineers focused on vector search capabilities.
• Be an expert on Elasticsearch search relevance and drive improvements in this area based on
• Collaborate with community members on issues and PRs, triaging when needed and handing off to
• Write idiomatic Java and contribute to near-OS/hardware level considerations as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• You have implemented novel techniques in vector similarity on a search platform with a large user
• Professional experience with search or vector databases; used or understood algorithms like HNSW
• You have solid skills in core Java and are conversant with the standard library of data structures
• You work with a high level of autonomy and can guide projects from start to finish, covering both
• You’re comfortable developing collaboratively, giving/receiving feedback on code, APIs, and
• You’ve used several data storage technologies like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or
