📋 Description

• Lead vector search initiatives for Elasticsearch.
• Deliver new vector features and fix bugs at scale.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed team of engineers.
• Design and implement vector similarity support for search relevance.
• Engage with community issues and pull requests asynchronously.
• Write idiomatic modern Java (Elasticsearch is ~100% Java).

🎯 Requirements

• Experience with vector similarity and vector databases (HNSW, IVF, etc.).
• Strong core Java skills and concurrent data structures.
• Autonomous, end-to-end project ownership with technical design.
• Collaborative, asynchronous communication across distributed teams.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
