📋 Description

• Lead initiatives to produce an industry-leading vector database offering for Elasticsearch.
• Contribute to Elasticsearch full time, building new search features and fixing bugs.
• Work with a globally distributed team focused on vector search capabilities.
• Be an expert on how Elasticsearch implements vector similarity for search relevance.
• Collaborate with community members on issues and pull requests.
• Write idiomatic modern Java (Elasticsearch is 99.8% Java).

🎯 Requirements

• Vector similarity experience and vector databases; used HNSW, IVF, or related algorithms at scale.
• Strong core Java skills; familiarity with standard data structures and concurrency; experience with
• Ability to own projects from design to delivery; collaborate with other engineers.
• Experience collaborating asynchronously across the internet; strong communication.
• Familiarity with storage tech like Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Proven track record of using AI to accelerate development and optimize code.
