- Design, build, and test Gusto core products
- Mentor other engineers to solve hard problems at scale
- Help scale Ruby/Rails and JavaScript/React apps
- Collaborate with PM, Data, Design, and Platform Eng teams to solve customer pain points and
- Build products our customers genuinely love
- Two-day onboarding travel to a Gusto office required
🎯 Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience
- Experience building scalable solutions that eliminate customer pain and create memorable experiences
- Experience leveraging AI tools/systems to accelerate development, testing, and product capabilities
- Curiosity with emerging AI frameworks; apply and share best practices to scale AI safely
- Experience owning multi-quarter projects solving complex engineering problems at scale
- Experience with large-scale refactors, performance and reliability improvements; strong ownership
