Job Description
📋 Description
- Review patient records to improve quality and accuracy of clinical documentation
- Assess docs to reflect severity of illness and services rendered
- Collaborate with providers, coders, and care team
- Identify opportunities and clarify clinical information as appropriate
- Formulate, monitor, and respond to documentation clarification requests
- Develop and deliver CDI education to providers
🎯 Requirements
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 1–2 years inpatient coding experience
- Active RN license or relevant certification (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CDIP, or CCDS)
- Experience with acute-care inpatient coding or CDI preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, HIM, or related field preferred
- Strong clinical documentation, coding knowledge, and communication skills
