Payroll Specialist I (Portugal)

📋 Description

• Run payroll end-to-end for Portugal, accurate, compliant, and on time.
• Master payroll data accuracy for new hires, terminations, salary changes, benefits, absences, and
• Payroll controls and quality checks before issuing payroll.
• Handle statutory filings and government accesses (IRS withholding, Segurança Social, Modelo 10).
• Follow payroll system procedures and test legislative updates before going live.
• Build subject matter knowledge on Portuguese tax and labor law.

🎯 Requirements

• 1–3 years running native (in-house) payroll processes for Portugal.
• Hands-on experience with Portuguese payroll software Cegid (Primavera or PHC) and/or Sendys.
• Completed a recognized accounting/payroll qualification.
• Working knowledge of Portuguese wage tax, social insurance, and labor law.
• Portuguese at C1/C2 and fluent English for global collaboration.
• Customer-first mindset, detailed, and able to work asynchronously.
