• Design, implement, and maintain Alpaca's systems and services for regional growth.
• Lead operational reliability and act as incident commander during regional hours.
• Mentor engineers on principles and practices; promote Alpaca culture regionally.
• Architect and implement scalable, multi-language, multi-currency solutions for international
• Collaborate with global teams via Slack and occasional meetings to align on objectives.
• Support on-call engineering projects as needed.

• Strong problem-solving and proactive mindset.
• Go or similar backend language; design robust system architectures.
• Excellent communication with global teams, regulators, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Experience as incident commander; lead and troubleshoot incidents or bugs.
• Solid CS fundamentals and software architecture experience.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, distributed team under pressure.
