Senior Backend Engineer (L5) -Payments

📋 Description

• Own technical direction for payments: orchestration, corridor integrations, FX, lifecycle, and
• Design corridor expansion architecture for new currencies as configuration-driven, repeatable
• Lead engineering of safeguarding flows and transaction monitoring with audit trails for regulators.
• Define and maintain standards for money-path code: idempotency, exactly-once, safe retries.
• Own resilience against partners: degraded mode, failover, reconciliation as a first-class design
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor senior engineers to set hiring benchmarks.

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience as a senior or staff backend engineer owning complex systems in production.
• Built or operated payment systems in production with money-path failure modes.
• Integrated external banking, payment, or FX partners; handled sandbox-prod drift and credential
• Correctness under failure: retries, idempotency, exactly-once effects, safe handling of critical
• Deep expertise in distributed systems with reliability, performance, and scalability trade-offs.
• Fluency in a modern TypeScript / Node backend stack and cloud infrastructure.
