Sr. Software Engineer I, Evaluation Services (Scala)

📋 Description

• Design and implement Scala backend services for evaluation, risk, and trading workloads
• Build actor-based systems (Akka) for high-throughput market data
• Own features end-to-end from spec to production hand-off
• Design data models in PostgreSQL including JSONB
• Diagnose production incidents and optimize performance under load
• Mentor junior teammates on Scala and testing practices

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years backend experience with real-time data and high availability
• Strong Scala expertise—idiomatic Scala, functional patterns, testing
• Experience with Akka/Pekko or equivalent
• Relational DB skills with PostgreSQL, JSONB usage
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar)
• Excellent troubleshooting and distributed tracing abilities
