Staff Software Engineer, GitHub Intelligence (Copilot Agents)

📋 Description

• Staff engineering role building infrastructure for AI agents to understand software-context
• Design, prototype, deploy scalable systems for agent experiences and developer workflows
• Develop platform APIs for context retrieval, sessions, memory, agent customization, evaluation
• Translate product opportunities into technical roadmaps and architectures
• Improve how software is built with AI agents and help teams work efficiently
• Collaborate with product, design, research, data science and engineers to deliver end-to-end

🎯 Requirements

• 9+ years in software engineering or related field with production software experience
• Strong production programming in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, Python, or TypeScript
• Experience with information retrieval, knowledge graphs, memory systems, personalization
• Experience designing or integrating production AI-agent or generative-AI capabilities
• Ability to influence architecture across teams; strong communication and collaboration
• Experience with experimentation, telemetry, offline evaluation, and data-informed product
