📋 Description

• Review and interpret medical records to assign ICD-10-CM & CPT codes per guidelines
• Abstract clinical/demographic info for surgical procedures
• Use practice management and hospital systems to validate coding and billing
• Review operative reports to select codes based on documented procedures
• Apply CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II, modifiers, NCCI edits, and payer requirements
• Identify and resolve coding edits and documentation discrepancies

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional medical coding experience, multispecialty preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Current certification such as CPC, CCS, COC, or equivalent; AHIMA/AAPC standards
• Demonstrated expertise in CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II, modifiers, NCCI edits, payer guidelines
• Strong experience reviewing operative reports and assigning codes
• Analytical, research, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities
