Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Spacecraft Mechanisms

📋 Description

• Tight collaboration with the NEXUS-1 spacecraft team to ensure upgrade modules integrate smoothly
• Identify requirements, conduct trade studies on mechanical systems, and drive design decisions.
• Create and iterate detailed CAD models for deployable spacecraft mechanisms.
• Develop and analyze kinematics, mechanism architectures, and dynamic models for in-space systems.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience designing, modeling, and flight-qualifying spacecraft mechanisms or
• Strong CAD capabilities; experience creating CAD drawings and performing tolerance analyses.
• Knowledge of mechanics of materials, FEA, and vibration/shock analysis; familiar with manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with robotics hardware, integration, testing, and troubleshooting in lab or
• Ability to work in a systems mindset and interface with electrical/software teams to meet system

🎁 Benefits

• Base salary in a range of $130,000 - $170,000 per year, determined case-by-case.
