Leverage your industry experience and join our team in thisWorkers Compensation Claims Adjusterrole!We are seekingaworkers’ compensation adjuster toprovide front-line customer-focused handling of lost time complex claimsforan assignedmarket.This adjuster will be responsible for all aspects of coverage, investigation, negotiation, and resolution within established best practices while utilizingindependent judgment in decision-making and managing the claimin a prompt andthorough manner from inception through closure.The success of our company is rooted in teamwork, the way we care about the people we work with and serve. This remote role will allow you to do your best work from your home office, collaborating virtually with your team daily. You will travel to our Raleigh office for meetings and company events up to four times a year.
Your WORK as a WC Claims Adjuster will make a differenceas you:
- Handleall aspects of investigation andsettlement of assigned claims to include interviewinginsureds, claimants, witnesses, and physicians;evaluating and making recommendations regarding coverage of claims; determining liability and the total value of claims; negotiating settlements and making recommendations regarding litigation.
- Overseelitigated claims and managelitigation expenses within budget
- Monitorand adhereto periodic claim file diaries consistently create a written plan of action to facilitate ongoing claim management, quickresolution,andbest possible outcome
- Interactregularly with agents/brokers,insureds, Risk Management, and Underwriting Department
- Ensuretimely and independent compliance with all management directives and performance management standards
- Maintainprofessional and technical knowledge by attending Builders Mutual sponsored training classes plusparticipating in industry conferences and seminars
Skills to get the JOB done RIGHT:
- 3+years of workerscompensation litigated and lost time claims handling experiencefor South Carolina and North Carolina; experience in Kentucky and/or Arkansas are a plus.
- SC or reciprocal state adjuster licenserequired;other licensesin our footprintarea plus
- Strong verbal and written communication, organizational,interpersonal,and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in the use and knowledge of MS Office software; knowledgeof policy processing and imaging systems
- Valid driver's license is required for occasional business travel
- Demonstrated ability to work independentlywithminimal supervision
