Vehicle Operations Service Manager

📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineering technicians
• Own fleet readiness: plan vehicle buildouts, maintenance, and repairs
• Run the workshop: safety, organization, tooling, and layout
• Ensure vehicle modifications meet Japanese safety regs and車検 requirements
• Collaborate with autonomy engineering, hardware, and vehicle ops teams in Japan and the US
• Support OEM customer engagements involving our vehicles

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in automotive service, mechanical, electrical, or robotics
• 2+ years leading or supervising technicians
• Certified vehicle inspector (自動車検査員)
• Knowledge of Japanese vehicle safety regs (保安基準) and modification review
• Proven ownership of a service/workshop operation
• Strong organizational and communication skills; able to prioritize across teams
