Optical Test Engineer, AI Satellites (Starmind)

📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate optical metrology and test systems
• Automate test procedures and data collection for high-volume products
• Train technicians on operation of optical test equipment
• Inform optical flight hardware designs to enable efficient test ops
• Apply optics and photonics knowledge to laser comm system trades and component development
• Participate in validation testing and reliability assessments

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in physics or engineering
• 2+ years hands-on optics/photonic lab experience (university projects or internships qualify)
• Master’s or PhD preferred
• Hands-on with optical test equipment (power meters, interferometers, lasers)
• CAD proficiency; programming in Python and C/C++; version control
• Proficiency with optical analysis tools such as Zemax
