Lead, Data Governance

📋 Description

• Lead data governance and data security program across lakehouse, analytics tools, and internal data
• Set standards for data classification, access, and protections; collaborate with Data Engineering
• Manage cross-region data access controls for US, Japan, EU, and other markets.
• Support regional data requests, PII handling, and regulatory reviews with Security, Privacy, and
• Prepare evidence for audits (SOC 2, ISO 27001, CSA STAR) and regulatory exams.
• Be the governance partner for Data and Security on access, classification, and tooling questions.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in data governance, data security, GRC, privacy engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years with modern data platforms (lakehouse/warehouse, SQL engines, BI, semantic layers).
• Solid grasp of DAMA-DMBOK, NIST, or similar frameworks; experience building classification and
• Familiar with cloud data platforms (GCP a plus) and analytics tooling; privacy/regulatory knowledge
• Experience supporting SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar audits; strong collaboration with engineering
• Excellent written/spoken communication; organized, detail-oriented, remote-ready; IC with no direct
