Job Description
📋 Description
- Operate AON’s high temperature industrial 3D printers to expert level
- Understand and formalize polymer extrusion behaviors: die swell, viscoelastic effects, layer
- Quantify driving phenomena experimentally; collaborate with software to turn data into tools
- Develop test workflows; run tests; provide feedback to improve the software platform
- Scale validated results from one material to all materials we support
- Help train technicians to scale experimentation across materials
🎯 Requirements
- Masters or PhD in Material Science, Polymers Science or Mechanical Engineering
- Strong intuition on polymer behavior during processing through extrusion
- Theoretical knowledge of polymer rheology, extrusion processing, and thermodynamics
- Experience in 3D printing, preferably FFF/FDM
- Experience with high temperature polymers (Ultem 9085, Ultem 1010, PEEK, PEKK-A)
- Scientific mindset and use of the scientific method to study phenomena
