Junior Material Scientist

📋 Description

• Operate AON’s high temperature industrial 3D printers to expert level
• Understand and formalize polymer extrusion behaviors: die swell, viscoelastic effects, layer
• Quantify driving phenomena experimentally; collaborate with software to turn data into tools
• Develop test workflows; run tests; provide feedback to improve the software platform
• Scale validated results from one material to all materials we support
• Help train technicians to scale experimentation across materials

🎯 Requirements

• Masters or PhD in Material Science, Polymers Science or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong intuition on polymer behavior during processing through extrusion
• Theoretical knowledge of polymer rheology, extrusion processing, and thermodynamics
• Experience in 3D printing, preferably FFF/FDM
• Experience with high temperature polymers (Ultem 9085, Ultem 1010, PEEK, PEKK-A)
• Scientific mindset and use of the scientific method to study phenomena
