Staff Technician, Welder (R5113)

📋 Description

• Senior-level welder in fast-paced R&D/prototype shop for aerospace hardware
• Perform precision TIG/GTAW welding on aerospace materials
• Fabricate prototype assemblies and fixtures from drawings/CAD
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T; work with cross-functional teams
• Ensure aerospace inspection standards (dye penetrant, leak test, X-ray when required)
• Set up/operate welding equipment and inspect welds for quality

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical welding cert preferred
• 8+ years in aerospace, motorsports, defense, or prototype manufacturing
• Expert TIG/GTAW welding proficiency; experience welding thin-wall tubing
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T; aerospace inspection experience
• Strong communication; able to mentor junior welders
• Pass aerospace weld qualification tests across multiple positions/materials
