Staff Engineer

📋 Description Join a hybrid role in Sydney working with Storage Layer Services. Architect and deliver features for a new cloud storage architecture. Collaborate across Sydney and North America teams to build scalable, multi-tenant storage services. Write production-ready Rust code and improve observability to inform decisions. Champion operational excellence and drive changes to high-risk parts of codebase. Balance performance with other requirements and guide complex performance improvements. 🎯 Requirements 10+ years in programming, debugging and performance tuning distributed systems. Strong experience in systems languages (Rust, C, C++, etc). Proven technical leadership and ability to mentor engineers. Solid understanding of cache management, log-based recovery, and transactions. Experience with highly concurrent, asynchronous services and distributed state machines.
