Staff Software Engineer

📋 Description Join the dbt Core team to tackle high-leverage system problems in the data stack. Work on the Python-based dbt-core engine, identifying performance bottlenecks and improving Design and implement enhancements to the adapter framework connecting dbt to databases and data Own distributed systems, troubleshoot production issues, and participate in on-call rotations. Contribute to technical design discussions and roadmaps for scalable, reliable software. Mentor engineers and uphold high standards for code quality and testing. 🎯 Requirements 6+ years of professional software development in backend systems. Deep backend engineering experience with Python. Strong problem-solving with Linux systems knowledge (process scheduling, memory, file systems). Solid grasp of database internals: query execution, storage, indexing, transactions. Excellent communication and ownership, balancing depth with fast delivery.
