Chief Meteorologist

📋 Description Lead forecasting team for a new aviation weather centre in the Caribbean, delivering SIGMETs Hire, interview, and build the meteorologist team; establish shift managers and forecasters for Set operating standards, forecasting methodologies, SOPs, and quality benchmarks aligned to ICAO Own day-to-day forecast operations focusing on convective, turbulence, icing, and tropical weather Author, review, and approve outputs prior to dissemination; act as final quality control Lead daily operational briefings and represent the centre with regulators, ICAO, and airline 🎯 Requirements Degree in meteorology or atmospheric science (or equivalent qualification) 8+ years of operational meteorology experience with aviation forecasting background Demonstrated managerial experience leading meteorology teams and setting standards Deep expertise forecasting convective weather and tropical maritime systems in a regional context Strong command of ICAO Annex 3 MET products and WMO competency standards Experience producing aviation forecasts (TAFs, convective, turbulence, icing) over large areas 🎁 Benefits
