Staff Software Engineer - Video - Content and Discovery

📋 Description Develop and maintain high-performance C++ services and tools powering Canva's video platform. Design distributed systems to ingest, process, store, and deliver multimedia content worldwide. Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to enable video editing and playback. Optimize multimedia processing pipelines for reliability, performance, scalability, and cost. Build new platform capabilities for Canva's growing video and multimedia ecosystem. Drive engineering excellence via testing, code reviews, and operational best practices. 🎯 Requirements Strong experience building scalable, secure, and performant backend systems using C++. CS fundamentals: concurrency, multithreading, memory management, and data structures. Experience designing and operating distributed systems and scalable backend architectures. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and services in production. Diagnosing, debugging, and resolving complex performance and reliability issues.
